Carterville Streets and Sidewalks

 Good evening!  This blog is just a place to collect information, comments and requests about the conditions of the streets and sidewalks in the city of Carterville, IL.  It replaces a facebook page which got shutdown for odd reasons last summer. Please feel free to post requests, comments and photos that could help the city improve the conditions of the City of Carterville.  I will present these to the City council as they are received and reviewed. Update:  9/17/23    I am just updating this page and will include as much information as I can gather.   Please pose questions and suggestions at any time.   Thanks, Jeff Kurtz, Citizens advisory board, Streets and Sidewalks Committee  In the course of the past year we have accomplished a few projects!   Street markings:  Most of the main streets here are in need of  having the road markings replaced.  The project had been approved and is schedules for spring of 2023.  (Update!!  Those street markings were completed last week!!  Congrats!) Street signs:  My wife and I spent a day driving around town looking at street signs.  Mostly stop signs, no parking signs and similar signs.  We identified more that 50 that the city has agreed to replace (many are finished) and they purchased new signs.  This will be a continuing project and suggestions are always welcome. Several sidewalks have been replaced and we are always looking for others that are in disrepair and potentially dangerous.  Ple
